  • Understand the multi layered impacts intergenerational trauma has had on the individual, family and community.

  • Ability to acknowledge the importance of family and cultural involvement throughout the assessment process and care planning.

Pediatricians and/or Family Practitioners

We are currently seeking pediatricians and family practitioners interested in working as part of a multidisciplinary team for the clinical assessment and diagnosis of children with FASD, autism and other complex developmental needs.  The work may also include participation in education workshops, research activities, policy development, etc.  Opportunities are flexible.

Psychiatrists

Research shows that individuals with prenatal exposures to alcohol and other substances, as well as those who experience childhood trauma, are more likely to have mental health concerns across their lifespan. Psychiatrists are able to inform complex diagnoses as well as support individuals in the community. Opportunities can be explored for psychiatrists across BC, including those able to work through virtual care.

Registered Psychologists

Responsibilities include conducting the comprehensive psychological assessment component for the diagnosis of FASD, autism, and other complex developmental needs; developing recommendations for home, school and community management; conducting interviews; preparing reports; providing feedback to parents and support team. Other duties may include participating on research teams, preparing and providing presentations and workshops.

Registered Speech-Language Pathologists

We are looking to add an SLP to our growing team! We hope to find someone who is enthusiastic, creative, and organized and who can work independently and as part of our team. Successful applicants will also have the ability to offer therapy services both virtually and in-person as well as organize an effective work schedule.

Communication Health Assistants

Are you a Communication Health Assistant (CHA)/Communicative Disorders Assistant (CDA) looking for a position with active SLP supervision? Our CHA is a highly valued member of our team and we make it a priority to offer ongoing support for our CHA both through virtual care and in-person sessions.

Occupational Therapists

We are expanding our services to offer occupational therapy and assessments for people of all ages with developmental diversities. This role will be developed with the right person, with a good fit of skills and interests. Travel across BC is expected.

Volunteer Opportunities

The Asante Centre is continuously looking for skilled volunteers to support the work of the Society in achieving its mission.  Please consider donating your time on a regular, project or consultation basis.
